3rd National Energy Efficiency Workshop – Cyprus

Our Association President, Mr. Cem Aşık, participated in the 3rd National Energy Efficiency Workshop held at the Middle East Technical University (METU) Northern Cyprus Campus, an event to which our Association also contributed in terms of content.

The workshop brought together a wide range of distinguished participants, including the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Mr. Ersin Tatar; TRNC Minister of Economy and Energy, Mr. Olgun Amcaoğlu; Advisor to the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources (ETKB), Mr. Abdülkadir Ongun; METU Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yozgatlıgil; Bahçeşehir Cyprus University Rector and EMO President, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Toycan; KTMMOB President, Mr. Seran Aysal; Head of the EVÇED Department at ETKB, Dr. Bilal Düzgün; Vice General Manager of the Development and Investment Bank of Turkey, Ms. Seçil Yıldız; as well as many representatives from both the public and private sectors.

In his opening speech, our President emphasized that energy efficiency should be the foremost focus in the fight against climate change and underlined that such investments are the greenest and offer the fastest returns.

Throughout the workshop, current practices, technical and regulatory barriers, and proposed solutions were discussed in detail.
